The Scottish Government has announced an increase in funding for the Entrepreneurial Education Fund for the year 2025–26, raising the total available to up to £1.2 million. This funding aims to inspire and support young people in developing business skills and considering entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
The fund represents an increase of more than a third compared to previous allocations and is designed to support a variety of courses and projects. These initiatives will target young individuals from diverse backgrounds, promoting inclusion and expanding access to entrepreneurial learning.
In the previous year, the fund backed programmes that integrated entrepreneurial education throughout Scotland’s school system, from Primary 1 (P1) to Secondary 6 (S6). These efforts aimed to build foundational skills and a mindset for business from an early age.
For 2025–26, the scope of the fund has been broadened to encourage more applications for vocational programmes at the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Levels 7 and 8. This includes college-level initiatives and practical learning tracks, further enhancing opportunities for young people to engage with business creation.
