The Racial Justice Fund will provide £5 million in funding to Black and minority-led organisations in London by 2027, following a £1 million contribution from the Lloyds Bank Foundation. This new investment adds to the fund’s remaining £3 million, after £2 million was already awarded to 13 organisations.
The initiative is co-led by Lloyds Bank Foundation, Trust for London, and City Bridge Foundation, reflecting a strengthened commitment among London-based funders to racial justice and equity.
The fund targets the root causes of economic inequality, especially as Black Londoners face nearly double the poverty rates of their white counterparts. Its focus is on supporting projects that drive long-term, systemic change in income and wealth distribution within marginalised communities, rather than short-term service delivery.
The collaborative funding model enhances impact and simplifies the application process for potential grantees. Trust for London remains the fund’s lead administrator.
