The IIT (BHU) Foundation has received a significant $1.6 million donation from alumnus Mr. Dev Goswami, a 1974 Mechanical Engineering graduate and Executive Chairman of IPS LLC, a Berkshire Hathaway company. This generous contribution, made alongside his wife, Dr. Vardhana Goswami, marks a major milestone for the Foundation, pushing its total donations since inception beyond $10 million. The $1.6 million donation will support the construction of a new Lecture Hall Complex, a modern academic facility aimed at serving the needs of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students. Designed to accommodate 1,850 students, the three-story complex will be equipped with smart boards, advanced acoustics, ergonomic seating, high-speed Wi-Fi, and group study areas, along with features that support inclusivity and collaboration. The complex aims to foster an enhanced academic environment conducive to interdisciplinary learning and innovation.
