The Australian Research Council (ARC) has announced $24.7 million in funding for 50 new projects under the ARC Early Career Industry Fellowships scheme. This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between early career researchers and industry partners, building Australia’s research capability in solving real-world, industry-identified challenges.
These fellowships are designed to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application, helping ensure innovation reaches sectors where it’s most needed.
This funding round is among the first to be approved by the ARC Board under its expanded responsibilities in the updated Australian Research Council Act 2001. The move enhances transparency and reinforces the Board’s strategic role in directing Australia’s research investments.
