WHO Diabetes Compact Turns Four: Progress, Challenges, and the Road Ahead

Dated: April 9, 2025

Celebrating the 4th Anniversary of the WHO Diabetes Compact

As we mark the fourth anniversary of the WHO Diabetes Compact, we invite you to join us in reflecting on the strides we have made and the plans we have for the future. This milestone serves as both a celebration of progress and a reminder of the ongoing challenges in tackling diabetes on a global scale.

Key Strategies for Diabetes Care

Our managing director, Leif, along with other esteemed speakers, will delve into critical strategies designed to meet the 2030 global diabetes targets. These strategies focus on integrating diabetes care into primary healthcare systems, which is essential for providing comprehensive and accessible treatment. The integration of diabetes management into Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is a crucial step toward ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need.

We believe that focusing on diabetes care within primary health systems will enable us to address the increasing prevalence of diabetes effectively. It allows for a more holistic approach to health, ensuring that patients receive the support they need without facing barriers.

Looking Ahead

As we look toward the future, it's essential to rally together and innovate our approaches to diabetes management and care. The challenges may be daunting, but with committed efforts and collaboration, we can achieve significant milestones in diabetes prevention and care by 2030.

Join us in this important conversation and be part of a healthier future for individuals affected by diabetes. Your voice matters in this collaborative effort, and together, we can make a difference.
