School Readiness Initiative: Advancing Education for Vulnerable Children in Zimbabwe

Dated: March 7, 2025

Progress in the School Readiness Initiative

We are excited to share the significant strides made in the implementation of the School Readiness Initiative, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in Zimbabwe. This initiative aims to enhance educational access and quality for vulnerable children, ensuring they have a solid foundation as they transition into Grade 1.

Reaching Vulnerable Children

To date, our efforts have positively impacted over 48,000 vulnerable children across 1,100 preschools. These institutions serve as crucial starting points for children to receive quality early childhood education (ECD). By focusing on this demographic, we are addressing educational disparities and providing essential support to those who need it most.

Quality Early Childhood Development

The quality of early childhood development (ECD) we provide is vital for the future academic success of these children. Research consistently emphasizes the importance of a robust early learning environment, which fosters cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our initiative is committed to ensuring that every child receives age-appropriate educational resources and teaching that will prepare them for the challenges ahead.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, our focus remains on scaling up our efforts and continuing to partner with organizations, educators, and communities. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity for a great start in life, setting the stage for lifelong learning and success. Together, we can make a lasting impact and reshape the educational landscape for the youngest and most vulnerable members of our society.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to measure the success and refinement of the School Readiness Initiative!
