The Migration & Asylum Project is excited to announce the launch of its Catalyst for Change Fellowship Program. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to engage in a 24-month experience focusing on migration, women’s rights, protection of displaced communities, and contributing to the development of a more inclusive legal protection landscape. Fellows will have the chance to work directly with migrant and displaced communities in South Asia, gaining practical experience and knowledge in areas such as survivor support for gender-based violence, legal empowerment of migrant workers, and assistance to displaced populations.
The fellowship aims to equip participants with the skills to use human rights and international law principles effectively in advocating for the rights of displaced populations. Fellows will also have the opportunity to collaborate with various partners, including UN agencies, civil society organizations, and state institutions. This experience can serve as a stepping stone for future academic and professional opportunities within the development sector.
Key responsibilities of the Fellows include providing legal aid, engaging with communities, assisting in establishing community legal desks, conducting interviews, and contributing to research, policy, and advocacy efforts. The fellowship offers a monthly stipend, health insurance allowance, and a duration of up to 24 months, based in New Delhi.
Applicants should be law or related field graduates with 0-2 years of experience, a strong commitment to human rights and access to justice, empathy towards migrant communities, and proficiency or willingness to learn digital tools.
